A beautiful and authentic 4/4 Italian CERTIFIED violin made by the famous Vittorio Mutti in Catiglione made in 1940 .
The violin has its original signature inside.- (not workshop)
Beautifull choice of selected woods : fine two-piece flamed back. Typical model with double bass bar.
Original varnish - brown/orange in good condition.

This violin comes with a new set of strings and a new chinrest and tailpiece.

This violin produces a good strong sound, a full singing open, but warm tone.

Biography of Vittorio Mutti - John Dilworth
MUTTI, Vittorio Born 1903, died 1959 Castiglione delle Stiviere, Mantua Italy. Pupil of Carlo Schiavi in Cremona. Several experimental models from early period, some with back and ribs carved from a single block. Later produced rather nondescript instruments on Stradivari models with transparent lightly coloured varnish; some unpurfled. Known to have used maple wood for the bassbar.
