A fine early H.R. Pfretzschner Cello Bow 1890-1905.

Beautiful silver mounted cello bow - H.R. Pfretzschner, made in his early period, ca. 1890-1900 - N.F.Voirin model.
These early Pfretzschner cello bows are very rare, most of them you find are made after 1901, (stamped on the frog).
H.R. Pfretzschner was without question one of the most important figures in the history of German bow making.
He worked in the shop of J.B. Vuillaume in Paris, and the bows made in his early period are strongly influenced
by N.F Voirin's work, just like this bow. In fact, his bows from this period are almost exact imitations of the Voirin model.

The beautiful round pernambuco stick is made of the finest dark brownisch/red pernambuco wood,

The length of the stick is around 69.7 cm (4/4 size) and the weight of the bow is 79 gr.

It has some wear on the frog,

It comes with new winding and leather grip, ready to play !
