A beautiful French cello bow by Prosper Colas - made in a beautiful J. Martin model; around 1900, and certified by J.F. Raffin in Paris.
Prosper Colas (1842 - 1919) was trained in Mirecourt and worked for J.B. Vuillaume in Paris.
This fine cello bow is made in a very nice J.Martin model (very rare) and is branded J. Martin on the stick.
This cello bow impersonates all of the superbe playing qualities that French bows are well known for.
Beautiful brown pernambuco stick, not to soft, and well balanced.
The lenght of the stick is around 70 cm (4/4 size), and the perfect weight of the bow is ca. 79 g.
It comes with a new hair, new winding, ready to play.

A fine cello bow that plays easy and is well-balanced.
