François Lotte cello bow.

A great and super rare French cello bow by François Lotte with Raffin certicate .ca 1947

François Lotte was one of the great French bow makers the 20th century.

Silver mounted ivory frog, and one-piece silver button, we have seen only one like this one.

This cello bow is one of the finest Francois Lotte cello bows we have seen so far.

The round stick is dark brown and is made of first class pernambuco, a strong but flexible bow with a great balance.

A very elegant and fine executed head.

This bow is in a good condition, ready to play.

A good professional bow with strong tone production, plenty of detail..
The total length of the stick is around 69,1 cm and the weight of the bow is 81 gr.

Roger studied the art of bow making with his father and took over his shop around 1960.
He made bows for: George Deblaye, Dupuy, Léon Mougenot, E. Vatelot, Roger & Max Millant and
Bernard Millant amongst others.
His best bows made entirely by himself are stamped: Roger François Lotte and sometimes Roger Lotte.
Some of the bows from 1965-1970 mounted in gold/tortoise-shell are stunning". (from Wikipedia)
