A beautiful old certified French violin by Georges DUPUY, Paris, 1947.
DUPUY, Georges Louis, Born 1904, died 1968 Paris France. Pupil of Vatelot and Brugère. 
Famous for his beautiful & well-made Cremonese models with red-brown varnish.
Well-finished professional work This lovely instrument is wearing its original label, dated and stamped. 
The violin is in a very good condition, the attractive warm reedish varnish and elegant outlines represent tha hand of a very fine violin maker.
The quality of the used material is high, a very nice back, scroll and ribs.
The sound is big, well projected, mature and warm in character. 
This beautiful instrument is in a good condition (small professional repair table),
and comes with a reliable certificate of authenticity.
New tailpiece and strings included.

DUPUY, Georges Louis Born 1904, died 1968 Paris France. Pupil of Vatelot and Brugère. Established with his father at 4 rue Demours 1939. After his father’s death in 1941 he moved to rue de Rome. Appointed secretary of the ‘Chambre Syndicale des facteurs d’instruments de musique de France’ and luthier to the Orchestre de l’Opéra in Paris. Cremonese model with red-brown varnish.
