Giovanni Piva was one of the many good Italian violin makers from the 19th century.
Devised his own violins, called the ‘Metallicor'.
This is a very rare Italian violin, and there are not much of his violins left anymore.

A very nice one-piece back; fine symmetrical top with interesting arch and good outlines.
The beautiful varnish deep brown/aubergine coloured varnish is attractively layered.
The sound can be described as warm, round, mature and mellow.- suited for the advanced
student or beginning professional violinist. New tailpiece and strings included.
Comes is good professional resatured condition , no sound post cracks. (smal repair lower part back).
