Italian violin Paolo Castello, Genoa  school circa 1775.
Paolo Castello was one of the most important violin makers active in Genoa in the mid-18th century.
Genoese violin from the second half of the eighteenth century 

A beautiful certified 18th century Italian violin made by the circle of  Paolo Castello - made in Genova circa. 1775 - 1785.
This lovely 18th century Italian violin wears a Antonio Gagliano label.
This Italian instrument comes with a professional Italian certificate of authenticity - (C. Amighetti - Cremona).
A very nice back, very fine purfling, anf elegant rouded corners.
Symmetrical top with interesting arch.
The violin has a beautiful later scroll.
The original varnish amber/brown coloured is attractively layered, the table and ribs have some wear as you can see on the pictures.
Pls note the cosmetic wear in table and ribs.
The sound is warm, mellow, mature and round.- suited for the professional violinist.
