This violin is made of good materials - a very nice flamed two-piece back, made of, nicely figured maple,
flamed ribs and a good carved scroll.
This violin produces a warm tone, full of personality and timbre.
This Hippolyte Caussin violin comes with a new set of Dominant strings - a new chinrest, tailpiece.

CAUSSIN, François Hippolyte Born 1830 Rouvres-la-Chétive, died 1898 Neufchâteau, Vosges France. Son and pupil of François Caussin, above. Also trained in Mirecourt with Gaillard, returning to work for and eventually succeed his father in Neufchâteau. Continued making good reproductions of classical Italian work.
