A very nice authentic French silver mounted master cello bow made by Louis Morizot (père) - (branded in the stick)
Louis Joseph Morizot, known as Morizot père.
This Morizot bow is made in the year 1930, made after a beautiful model.- All parts original.
Louis Morizot Père won the Grand Prix at the first exhibition Artisanale de Paris in 1924.
Gold medal at the Exposition Artisanale de Paris in 1927
Morizot violin bows are still wanted and respected by many amateurs and professional players.
Beautiful dark-brown pernambuco stick, round shaped !- with a refined design and a good balance.
The length of the stick is around 72,7 cm and the weight of the bow is around 81 gr.
The bow is ready to play, with new leather grip and hair.

Biography of Louis Morizot - John Dilworth
MORIZOT, Louis Joseph Born 1874 Darney, Vosges, died 1957 Mirecourt France.
Bow maker, known as ‘Morizot père’. Pupil of E. Cuniot and C. N. Bazin in Mirecourt.
Worked for Sartory from 1914. Established independently 1919, at 5 rue St Georges, and joined by his sons from 1920.
The workshop flourished and he became one of the chief exporters of French bows to the American market. From 1933 the
business was known as Louis Morizot & fils. In 1937 and in declining health, he sold out his share of the company,
but continued to work on bows in his retirement. Branded: L.MORIZOT, (two different typefaces).
